Where does white pepper come from?
Because white pepper comes from exactly the same plant as black pepper - it also originated in India. It differs from black pepper, which is more standard, only in the timing of the harvesting of the fruit from the bush - which, in the case of white pepper, is when the peppercorns are ripe, and black pepper when they have not yet reached full maturity.
Sichuan pepper - where does it come from?
Sichuan pepper - unlike black or white pepper - does not originate from India, but from China. Today, Sichuan peppercorns are enjoyed all over the world - for their distinctive, refreshing aroma.
